Strong metal-support interaction (SMSI) of Pt/CeO2 and its effect on propane dehydrogenation

نویسندگان

چکیده

Upon reduction at 975 °C, a strong metal-support interaction (SMSI) of CeO2 on Pt NPs leads to low rates for ethylene hydrogenation and propane dehydrogenation, but high olefin selectivity the latter reaction. By contrast, 550 °C Pt/CeO2, 5 nm NP’s with dehydrogenation TORs similar Pt/SiO2. X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) shows formation ?15 monometallic nanoparticles partially covered by SMSI CeO2. The propylene was ?95 % suggesting there were few ensembles capable catalysing hydrogenolysis; while remaining exposed remain active reactions.

‘‘Catalytically active Au on Titania’’: yet another example of a strong metal support interaction (SMSI)?

In light of the many similarities between previous studies of the so-called strong metal support interaction (SMSI) involving Gr. VIII metals, and catalytically active Au, it is apparent that these two phenomena must be closely related. That active Au on titania spreads to form a bilayer structure, is electron-rich as determined by theory and experiment, nucleates on reduced Ti defects created ...

Naphthalene hydrogenation over Pt/TiO2–ZrO2 and the behavior of strong metal–support interaction (SMSI)

Vapor-phase naphthalene hydrogenation over various supported Pt catalysts was studied in a continuous fixed-bed microreactor. Experimental results indicated that the catalytic activity of the catalyst strongly depended on the nature of the support and the pre-reduction temperature. Reaction order was independent of the support as the reaction was pseudo-first-order with respect to naphthalene i...

an investigation of the impact of self monitoring on langauge teachers motivational practice and its effect on learners motivation

the central purpose of this study was to conduct a case study about the role of self monitoring in teacher’s use of motivational strategies. furthermore it focused on how these strategies affected students’ motivational behavior. although many studies have been done to investigate teachers’ motivational strategies use (cheng & d?rnyei, 2007; d?rnyei & csizer, 1998; green, 2001, guilloteaux & d?...

the effect of functional/notional approach on the proficiency level of efl learners and its evaluation through functional test

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

Strong metal support interaction on Co / niobia model catalysts

Cobalt was deposited by physical vapor deposition onto thin well-ordered niobia films in order to model niobia supported Co catalysts. Adsorption of CO on the Co/niobia surfaces was studied by temperature programmed desorption and infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy. Structural characterization was performed by photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy. Cobalt was fou...
